This thing is a joke. He said that I would be sent another one free of charge. The third one broke down in about a week. I said to myself: "Well, I bought it. I called DeLonghi to report my complaint. I ordered it online. What a great disappointment I had when I first took it out of the box. I called DeLonghi again telling them about the replacement they sent me not working properly.
Had I actually been able to see it and touch it, I would have never bought it. The rep there said that mine was probably damaged during the shipment (how could that possibly be when the box and the juicer were perfectly free from any visible damage). How nice. After lengthly discussion with various reps, they finally agreed to send me a third replacement (free of charge). Well, you guessed it. It arrived about two weeks later.
I wonder, how could anyone possibly give this a good rating. I took it apart, and I saw the cheap plastic gears with some of the teeth stripped off. I might as well use it." The very first minute I tried juicing a ripe orange, the gears started to grind, the motor stopped, and the thing made a loud racket. It's the most cheaply made, poorly designed piece of junk I've ever seen. I chose this particulare juicer because of the high ratings it got.
It's unbelieveably noisy. Shame on you, DeLonghi, for manufacturing and marketing a ridiculous piece of junk. --- Final thought. I bought this citrus juicer merely because of the "good" reviews it got. Without even using it, one could easily "feel" that it is very cheaply made.
Expecting this replacement to be working fine, I tried it, and it was just as bad as the first one I bought (very weak motor which would freeze up, gears grinding, very noisy, etc).
Very disappointing. The juicer has nice features (i.e. The last few times I used it, it got extremely loud and today, it simply stopped spinning. I can't believe I have to throw this thing away after so few uses. I have only had this juicer for a few months and it stopped working today. I have probably only used it a dozen times. the tray that catches the pulp), but it simply isn't durable.
It also doesn't work well on larger citrus fruits. Not impressive at all. This product isn't very sturdy. Mine literally broke into pieces when I waas trying to remove the piitcher from the base after very few uses.
The whole time I used this juicer it was loud and ineffective. I did not realize how horrible this juicer was until it finally died and I bought a new one. Buy the Black & Decker CJ525 CitrusMate Plus Citrus Juicer, it's cheaper, quicker, quieter and a million times better.
We have tried other juicers but this is the best for lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruit. It has a choice of two reamer sizes to use, it's inexpensive, and reliable.
